About the Cover

Angiotensin II type
1 (AT1) receptors mediate the biological action of angiotensin, which is important
in the regulation of blood pressure as well as other functions related to cardiovascular
control. Recently a novel protein associated with the C terminus of AT1 receptor,
ARAP-1, was identified. It promotes the receptor recycling back to the plasma
membrane. The confocal picture shows human embroyo kidney (HEK)-293 cell-to
transfected with GFP-ARAP-1 and Myc-epitop tagged AT1A receptor before exposure
to angiotensin II. The red color indicates the AT1A receptors, The green color
indicates GFP-ARAP1. Note (in the inserted pictures): The AT1A receptors was
co-localized with ARAP1 at the plasma membrane of the cell which are indicated
by the yellow color after 45 min exposure to angiotensin II. The
paper is presented in page 165.
