Cover: Phosphatidylinositol metabolic pathway, major components of the Second Messenger System, is critical for plant development and cell responses to environmental stimuli. DNA chip based analysis on the expression profiles of genes encoding key enzymes of the pathway revealed the involvement of the pathway in multiple developmental processes and provided informative clues on the functional characterization, as well as regulatory mechanisms within (see page 34-46 of this issue for more details).
