Poonam S. Jadhav , Shreya Mahajan , Si Ming Man*
Division of Immunology and Infectious Disease, The John Curtin School of Medical Research, The Australian National University, Canberra, AustraliaActivation of innate immune sensors leads to the formation of inflammatory complexes called PANoptosomes that trigger inflammation and the lytic inflammatory cell death PANoptosis. A new study published in Cell now identified NLRC5 as a PANoptosome sensor that responds to NAD+ depletion triggered by heme plus PAMPs or heme plus TNF.
