The gentle fall of a dewdrop from a lotus leaf into a tranquil pond exemplifies mechanical force stimulation; the resulting concentric ripples on the water surface illustrate the transmission of this force through a fluid medium; and the coordinated movement of fish schools reflects the corresponding biological response. This study demonstrates that mechanical force, mediated by Piezo1, induces hematopoietic stem cell expansion, highlighting a precisely regulated biological mechanism. See page 272–285 by Qiwei Wang et al. for details.
